Unleash the power of data to bridge the racial wealth gap
As we close 2024, we reflect on a year that tested and shaped us, proving the power of resilience. “I recently found out I was a high risk pregnancy, and had to leave my job. I didn’t know how I would pay my rent. I went into my apartment office, and found a brochure about rental relief. I signed up within 20 I received an email about thing I had to show proof of. Turned all my paperwork in, and within 2 days I was called saying I was approved. Our rebrand reflects progress and trust, with a modern logo inspired by the Bese Saka and Lotus Flower, symbols of wealth, strength, and unity. This evolution underpins The Esusu Movement and our audacious Master Plan, bringing us closer to the many millions in this country left behind by the current status quo. Together, we’re making the American Dream more accessible for all.
Industry Highlights
Atlantic Re:think spoke with Wemimo and Fannie Mae’s Nancy Atwell, SVP and Multifamily Chief Operating Officer about what we learned one year into the positive rent reporting pilot.
Priscilla Almodovar, CEO of Fannie Mae spoke with CNBC about how on-time rent payments can help credit invisible customers be seen. Esusu has been one of the largest data providers in the Fannie positive rent payment pilot.
We partnered with Operation HOPE, providing free financial coaching to Esusu renters. Wemimo joined John Hope Bryant on Bloomberg TV to highlight the power of financial literacy for marginalized communities. By working with a dedicated coach over several months, Esusu renters can learn proven techniques to reduce debt, increase savings, create budgets, review credit reports, and develop financial action plans.
