A Year of Forward: For Renters, Our Partners and Industry.

The year 2025 will be remembered as the inflection point where "Alternative Data" ceased to be an experiment and became an economic standard. For Esusu, it was a year of profound maturation: for our product architecture, our institutional partnerships, and, most importantly, the millions of renters who form the bedrock of our mission.

2025

This year was about elevation. Having spent a decade engineering the data infrastructure to bridge the gap between monthly rent payments and credit visibility, we are now seeing the dividends of that focus at a systemic scale.

Industry Highlights

In an era where middle-income earners are increasingly sidelined from the American Dream, these figures represent a structural counter-current. Our optimism is buoyed by policy and industry evolutions that make this moment bigger than us: FICO and VantageScore rolled out modern underwriting engines that include rent as a tradeline, heralding the FHFA’s directive for Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac to factor rent history into mortgage underwriting.

What began as a goal to make rent count has become a permanent shift in how credit is built and evaluated. With policy alignment, industry adoption, and measurable impact, the future of credit is more inclusive and already underway.

Power Our Why

“I have been using Esusu for under a year. My experience with building credit and financial stability before Esusu was non existent because I didn’t have financial discipline. Esusu has had such a positive financial impact on my life with its extensive support system to help you on your financial journey. Building credit and financial stability is important to a healthy credit portfolio.”

“I began my journey with Esusu in April 2023 for rent relief program at my current housing complex, which was truly a God-send. Since then, my credit stability has improved tremendously with each on-time monthly payment and has increased my credit score and afforded me other opportunities to continue growing.”

When I needed help Esusu was there. I appreciate everything they did for me. Grateful for the reminders about the payment. I want to end this with a note: if you need help don't be afraid to ask. There are still people out there that are willing to help. Thank you Esusu.

Esusu helped me when I was in a bind when the government shutdown and I couldn't receive pay until it reopened leaving my rent behind two months. The process was fast and easy everything took a week from applying to getting approved to my rental place receiving funds to bring my account current. The fact its zero interest meaning you only pay what you borrow is something you cant get no where these days, they respond quickly and have good consumer service. If I need to use their service again I would definitely use them again. Thank you Esusu for being a company people can rely on in the time of need!

Our North Star for 2026

As we look toward the year ahead, our objective is nothing less than a wholesale shift in the American financial resume. We are moving toward a reality where "mortgage-ready" is no longer defined by the weight of legacy debt, but by the proven reliability of a renter. The billions in credit access already unlocked by the Esusu community are merely a glimpse of the potential that remains untapped. Our platform serves as the connective tissue in this systemic transformation, bridging the gap between invisible effort and institutional recognition.
Yet, credit building is only our point of entry. Our broader mandate is to collaborate with renters, policymakers, and industry leaders to architect a more perfect financial system—one that honors the dignity of work and meets millions of families where they are. The foundation is set; the next chapter is about scaling that resilience into a national standard.
