Frequently Asked Questions

What is Esusu Pay?

Esusu Pay is a flexible rent‑payment program available to eligible residents through the Esusu app. When you subscribe to Plus or Premium plans at a participating property, you can access short‑term, interest‑free options (like Esusu Pay with Affirm and Esusu Split Pay) that help you split rent into smaller payments while your landlord still receives the full amount.

Why would I use Esusu Pay?

Esusu Pay helps when rent and payday don’t line up. It lets you spread rent within the same billing cycle, so you can manage cash flow without relying on credit cards, overdrafts, or late fees.

Is Esusu Pay a loan or a credit card?

Esusu Pay is not a credit card. It connects you to short‑term, interest‑free loans from partners like Affirm and Stable Home Fund, designed specifically to help you manage rent—not create long‑term debt.

How do I get access to Esusu Pay?
  1. Download the Esusu app and create an account.
  2. Subscribe to Esusu Plus or Premium to unlock Esusu Pay.
  3. Confirm your rental info at a participating property.
  4. From the Esusu Pay section, apply for Esusu Pay with Affirm or Esusu Split Pay, based on your eligibility.
What’s the difference between Esusu Pay with Affirm and Esusu Split Pay?
  • Esusu Pay with Affirm
Split your rent into two equal payments over one month. It’s interest‑free with no loan fees for this product, and your full rent is paid to your landlord while you repay Affirm in two installments.
  • Esusu Split Pay (powered by Stable Home Fund)
Make a down payment toward your rent, and Stable Home Fund covers the rest, paying your landlord directly. You repay the remaining balance in two smaller installments (around 30 days total), interest‑free.
How much are Plus and Premium?

Esusu Plus is $35/month and includes Esusu Pay, credit‑building, and 1:1 financial coaching.Premium is $50/month and includes everything in Plus plus tax‑filing support and additional financial tools.

What happens if I cancel my Plus or Premium subscription?

If you cancel, you’ll keep access to Esusu Pay and other Plus/Premium benefits until the end of your current billing period, then your account downgrades back to the free Core plan. You’ll no longer be able to use Esusu Pay, but you’re still responsible for repaying any existing Esusu Pay loans according to their terms.

Are Esusu Pay options really interest‑free?

Yes. Esusu Pay with Affirm and Esusu Split Pay are designed to be interest‑free, with no loan fees or penalties for paying early. You repay only the amount of rent covered by your Esusu Pay option, following the schedule in your offer. If you miss payments and become delinquent, the creditor may report this to credit bureaus, which could negatively impact your credit.

Does my landlord get paid on time?

Esusu Pay is designed to keep rent on track. Once your loan is finalized, payments are typically sent to your landlord’s rent portal or bank account within 2–5 business days,
