Since 2016, Esusu strives to boost credit scores, empower residents and improve property performance for landlords. We currently provide our services to 30% of the most sizable landlords on the National Multi-Housing Council list. Recently landing a $10 Million Series A funding and continuous investments from large corporations and personalities like Serena Williams, Esusu is now the largest rent reporting provider in the United States.
This growth and success would not be possible without the hard work, dedication, and heart of the people behind Esusu. Since early this year, Esusu has been growing its team– and continues to secure an amazing roster of talented and mission-driven individuals from all over the world to continue building the most comprehensive financial health platform for low to medium-income families.
As we strive for growth through product innovation we are honored and delighted to introduce our VP of Product, Mia Bernad-Peroff
World Class Talent, World Class Heart
Mia grew up in Ozamiz City, Philippines – A city on a bay, backdropped by a volcano. She graduated from Ateneo de Cagayan with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration and Management. She is currently pursuing her Master’s in Business Administration at University of Minnesota’s Carlson School of Management.
Before Esusu, Mia Co-Founded and led Product and Marketing at Sezzle– A fintech company whose mission is to understand young people’s approach to spending, budgeting, and credit building, then use this information to create products that financially empower the next generation. Her work at Sezzle has become a way for her to “fight for equity for those that are underestimated and forgotten.”
On Why She Joined Esusu
Her goal as a product leader has always been to solve problems that better serve people who were previously underserved by traditional financial institutions. “My personal background and my roles at Sezzle have given me a unique perspective on how credit plays such a pivotal role in a person’s life.”
“We get the future we create. With the team that we have at Esusu, I strongly believe that we can create the future that is deserving of the next generation.”
Esusu boldly seeks to close the racial wealth gap by dismantling the barriers to housing equality for working families. Our mission is to provide the financial services needed to support an inclusive, fair, and equitable society where every American has a secure home and the opportunity to establish wealth.
Mia writes about her decision to join Esusu in her blog.
Words of Wisdom to Share
“With over 10 years of experience in effective design and product management, I’ve come to know this: what’s more valuable than mastery at any skill, is an openness to taking in new perspectives and allowing yourself to be influenced by others.”
